How to Create a Quotation Online and Download PDF
Build a client quotation in the browser: business and client details, line items, validity date, and a PDF download. A quotation is a priced offer, not an invoice.
What belongs on a simple quotation
A quotation is a priced proposal sent before an order is confirmed: who is offering, who it is for, a unique quotation number, dates, line items, tax if any, and how long the prices stay valid.
The Quotation Generator fills that layout in the browser and downloads a PDF. There is no account. A draft stays in this browser after refresh unless you start a new quotation.
- Business name, address, and any tax ID you actually use.
- Client or company name.
- Quotation number, issue date, and a valid-until date.
- Line items with quantity, unit price, and optional SKU.
- Discount, tax, and shipping only when they belong on the offer.
Quotation vs invoice
Send a quotation when you are still proposing a price. Send an invoice when you are requesting payment. If money already changed hands, use a receipt instead of relabeling a quote.
What this is not
It is not a contract generator, CRM, or tax filing portal. Totals are arithmetic from the fields you enter. Confirm commercial and tax requirements for your situation before you send the PDF.
Frequently asked questions
- Do I need to sign up to download a quotation PDF?
- No. Create the quotation on the page and download the PDF locally. Toolshelf does not store the quotation contents on a server for this tool.
