PDF to Markdown FAQ
- What is PDF to Markdown?
- It reads the PDF text layer in your browser and exports approximate Markdown. It is not PDF to Word and will not rebuild complex layout.
- Are files uploaded?
- No. Conversion runs locally. The PDF can stay on this device after refresh if quota allows. Markdown stays in this tab. Toolshelf does not receive the file.
- Why is my scan empty?
- Image-only PDFs have no text layer. Run OCR PDF first, then convert. Tables and columns will still be approximate.
When to convert PDF to Markdown here
