Quotation Generator
This page is a quotation generator and quotation maker for people who need a printable price proposal before a sale is confirmed. Enter your business, the client, line items, optional tax, and a valid-until date, then download a PDF or print. Totals are calculated in the browser.
Quotation contents stay on your device. A draft is saved in this browser so a refresh does not start over. Toolshelf does not upload quotations for processing.
How to Create a Quotation
- 1Enter the business name. Add a logo, address, phone, email, website, or tax ID only if they should appear on the quotation.
- 2Add the client or company name. Contact person, phone, email, and address are optional.
- 3Confirm the quotation number and date. Set Valid until, a project reference, and who prepared the quote if you use those fields.
- 4Add products or services with quantity and unit price. Apply a discount, optional tax, and shipping if the proposal needs them.
- 5Check the live preview, then download PDF, print, or export PNG or JPG. Use New quotation to start another one.
Quotation vs invoice vs estimate
A quotation is a priced offer you can honor until the validity date. An invoice asks for payment after (or as) you supply. An estimate is a looser expected cost and is not always treated as a firm price. This generator labels the document as a quotation and does not show amount paid or change due. If you need a bill with a due date, open the Invoice Generator. If payment already happened, open the Receipt Generator.

Frequently asked questions
- What is a quotation?
- A quotation is a priced proposal you send a prospective client before an order is confirmed. It lists goods or services, quantities, rates, tax if any, and how long the prices remain valid. It is not an invoice and does not record that money was received.
- How do I create a quotation online?
- Open the Toolshelf quotation generator, enter your business and the client, add line items, set a valid-until date, then download a PDF or print. You do not need an account.
- Is this a quotation generator or an invoice maker?
- This page is a quotation generator. The document is labeled Quotation, uses quotation numbering, and includes a validity date. For a bill that requests payment, use the Invoice Generator. For a record of money already received, use the Receipt Generator.
- Can I download a quotation as PDF?
- Yes. Download Quotation builds a PDF from the on-screen preview in your browser. Print is available if you prefer paper. PNG and JPG export the preview as an image.
- Can I set how long the quotation stays valid?
- Yes. Use Valid until. The default terms note that the quotation is valid until that date. Edit the terms if your proposal needs different wording. This is not a legal commitment generated by Toolshelf.
- Does the quotation stay after I refresh the page?
- Yes. Fields (and the logo when storage allows) are saved in this browser automatically so a refresh does not wipe the draft. Use New quotation when you want a blank form. Nothing is stored on a Toolshelf server.
- Do I need to sign up?
- No. Toolshelf Quotation Generator runs locally. There is no signup wall and no upload of quotation contents for processing.
- Is this a contract or tax filing tool?
- No. The tool generates a customizable price proposal from the fields you enter. You are responsible for accurate details, numbering, and any commercial or tax rules that apply to you.
What this quotation generator is for
Create a price proposal for a prospective client. Fill business details, items, and validity yourself. The math is from those fields — it does not create a binding contract or file tax.
- No signup. Download PDF from the browser.
- Validity date and editable terms so the offer has an expiry.
- Client name is required so the quote is addressed to someone.
Limitations
- Not a replacement for CRM, e-signature, or accounting software.
- You are responsible for accurate prices, tax, and commercial terms.
- Drafts stay in this browser unless you clear them or start a new quotation.
