How to Create an Invoice Online and Download PDF

Build a client invoice in the browser: seller and buyer details, line items, tax, and a PDF download. Check GST fields if you need them — the tool does not file tax for you.

What belongs on a simple invoice

An invoice is a request for payment with enough detail that both sides can reconcile it later: who billed, who pays, a unique invoice number, dates, line items, tax if any, and the total.

The Invoice Generator fills that layout in the browser and downloads a PDF. There is no account. Drafts stay in this browser unless you clear them.

  • Seller name, address, and any GSTIN or tax ID you actually use.
  • Buyer name and address.
  • Invoice number and date (and due date if you use one).
  • Line items with quantity, rate, and optional HSN/SAC.
  • CGST+SGST or IGST only when that split applies to the supply — the generator does not decide this for you.

PDF vs Word

PDF is the usual file to send. If your source is already a Word template, convert it with Word to PDF instead of rebuilding line by line.

What this is not

It is not accounting software, e-invoicing, or a GST filing portal. Totals are arithmetic from the fields you enter. Confirm legal and tax requirements for your jurisdiction before you send the PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to sign up to download an invoice PDF?
No. Create the invoice on the page and download the PDF locally. Toolshelf does not store the invoice contents on a server for this tool.
